Effective January 1, 2025, as part of our ongoing commitment to focus on opportunities to innovate our product portfolio and continue delivering sustainable value to our customers, we will be making a change to the unicable used on our TOUGH GUN® CA3 robotic air-cooled MIG guns.
The new unicable provides better flexibility in cobot and conventional over-the-arm robotic welding applications.
It is important to note the amperage rating of the TOUGH GUN® CA3 MIG gun will change from 385-amp to 350-amp with mixed gases at 100% duty cycle (ratings are based on tests that comply with IEC 60974-7 standards).
There will be no change to configured TOUGH GUN® CA3 MIG gun part numbers or its replacement or service parts.

NEW PRODUCT: SHROUDS FOR THE TOUGH GUN® TT4 REAMER AND WIRE CUTTER
We are pleased to announce the launch of our new reamer shroud and wire cutter shroud. These new shrouds are intended to encourage safe practices when the TOUGH GUN® TT4 reamers are used in cobot welding applications where the operator could be near the reamer during operation.
Moving forward, all TOUGH GUN® TT4A and TT4E reamers configured specifically for use in cobot welding applications will come factory-equipped with a reamer shroud, and if the reamer is configured with the wire cutter option, the wire cutter shroud will also be factory installed.
The wire cutter can be purchased with or without the wire cutter shroud, and the reamer and the wire cutter shrouds are both available for purchase separately for customers who would like to retrofit their existing equipment, but it is important to note that if retrofitting a reamer and/or a wire cutter manufactured before March 2024, additional components will be required.

PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT – Change to Profile of TOUGH GUN® TA3 MIG Gun Connector Housings
As part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, we are making a change to the
TOUGH GUN® TA3 gun connector housing to accommodate an additional setscrew (see ‘Setscrew 2’
in Figure 2) which is designed to improve TCP repeatability when using long/extended length necks by providing additional support to help secure the neck firmly in place.
In order to make this change, extra thread engagement was required for the front setscrew which increased the profile of the front housing by 0.157” at the largest section (see Figure 3). And rather than the M6 x 1.0 setscrew currently used in our existing design, the new design uses two (2) M10 x 1.25 setscrews which have been tested and consistently achieved 340 in.-lbs. without causing any thread failures.
It is important to note that, like in our existing design, ‘Setscrew 1’ (see Figure 2) is responsible for the electrical (and mechanical) connection and must be installed and tightened properly, whereas ‘Setscrew 2’ is intended solely to achieve additional mechanical support. The sticker on the new gun connector housings has been revised to indicate a Step 1 / Step 2 approach (see Figure 4) to reflect this order of importance.
This incremental improvement will be rolled out as a running change as we work through current inventory, with full implementation targeted to be complete by the end of 2024.

To continue delivering sustainable value to our customers, we regularly assess our product offering to ensure focus and opportunities to innovate our product portfolio.
Please be advised that, effective May 1, 2024, we are removing all TOUGH LOCK™ consumables and AutoLength pin options from our robotic, fixed automatic and cobot MIG gun configurators.
It is important to note the following:
- “AccuLock™ consumables” and “No consumables” will remain available options where currently available.
- TOUGH LOCK consumables are not being discontinued and can be ordered separately if required.
- No standard duty AccuLock consumable options will be available at this time. If standard duty consumables are required, be sure to configure the gun with the “No consumables” option and order the appropriate standard duty TOUGH LOCK consumables separately.
- Guns previously configured with TOUGH LOCK consumables and/or AutoLength pins will remain available for (re)order – no new TOUGH LOCK and/or AutoLength configurations will be available after May 1, 2024.
- AutoLength pins are not being discontinued and can be ordered separately if required.

As part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, beginning in February 2024 customers will begin to notice that Tregaskiss® cutter blades are coming with a pre-installed washer which is secured and held in place by an o-ring. This incremental improvement provides more convenience for customers by ensuring the washer remains securely in place and gets properly re-assembled when the cutter blade needs to be removed or replaced.
Effective February 5, 2024, this modification will be rolled out as a running change across our complete lineup of cutter blades. There will be no change to cutter blade part numbers, but please note that packaging will change to accommodate the addition of the washer.

The new unicable better addresses customer needs for a lighter more flexible cable in their cobot welding applications. Improvements have been made to the dedicated motor lubricator on Tregaskiss® TOUGH GUN TT4A and TT4E reamers. Effective immediately, all new TOUGH GUN TT4 reamer orders will come equipped with the new lubricator, without any impact to the reamer part number. However, it is important to note that if ordering the lubricator separately, the part number has changed from TT4-LUB to TT4-2250.
New TT4-2250 motor lubricator enhancements:
- Better drip rate control provides more accurate and consistent oil feed rate into the motor
- No need to remove parts to check the oil level! Easily identify the oil level through a sight glass located on the outside of the lubricator
- Air fittings are metal which better protects them from spatter
Same mounting footprint, no special adaptors needed.

In order to ensure focus on opportunities to innovate our product portfolio and continue delivering sustainable value to our customers, the changes identified below will be made to the Tregaskiss® 600 amp robotic water-cooled MIG gun offering effective September 29, 2023.
Physical changes to the product:
The gun housing of 600 amp robotic water-cooled MIG guns not equipped with wire brake will feature a wire brake plug (part number RW16-WBP). This change will also allow customers to install wire brake at a later date with the appropriate wire brake kit without having to change the gun housing.
There will be no change to MIG guns equipped with wire brake.
Changes to configurable options:
Additionally, due to low demand, please note that all 45-degree neck and 0.035” (0.9 mm) wire size options will be removed from the 600 amp robotic water-cooled MIG gun configurator.

Effective September 29, 2023, the 350 amp MA1 fixed automatic MIG gun will be removed from the Tregaskiss product portfolio and will be replaced with the existing equivalent 385 amp MA1 fixed automatic model. This initiative allows us to focus on delivering our best quality solution to our customers.
The only differences between the 350 amp and the 385 amp models are as follows:
- The outside diameter of the 385-amp cable is 0.1” larger than the 350-amp cable
- The length of the rear spring strain relief on the 385-amp model is 4.64” shorter than on the 350-amp model
- The outside diameter of the rear spring strain relief on the 385-amp model is 0.19” larger than on the 350-amp model
Affected Part Numbers:
- All fixed automatic MIG gun part numbers beginning with MA15
Replacement Gun Options:
- The 385 amp model is available as a direct replacement by simply changing the “MA15” prefix in your configured gun part number to “MA16”

Tregaskiss introduces a new online configurator for its TOUGH GUN® TT4 reamer robotic nozzle cleaning stations. The new mobile-friendly configurator allows users to quickly and easily customize their analog or ethernet reamer for their exact application. Users simply follow a series of steps to configure a reamer model, first selecting the V-block and cutter blade to match the outside diameter (OD) and bore of their robotic MIG gun nozzle. Users can then select from various add-ons, including a wire cutter or nozzle detect. Tregaskiss also offers the option to choose accessories sold separately, such as a reamer stand, anti-spatter liquid and an anti-spatter multi-feed system.
After choosing all desired components, the configurator provides a summary of the selections, along with a part number for the reamer. Users can access downloadable replacement parts lists, exploded view diagrams and other valuable takeaways that they can print, save in PDF format for later, or share via email.
Along with the online configurator, a new reverse part number lookup function for Tregaskiss TOUGH GUN® TT4 reamer robotic nozzle cleaning stations is available. By entering a fully configured TOUGH GUN TT4 reamer part number, users get access to a downloadable detailed replacement parts list and other relevant resources specific to their configuration.

For use with TOUGH GUN® TA3 ThruArm® series robotic MIG guns, LSR+ (Low-Stress Robotic) unicables incorporate new SmoothTurn™ technology to maximize production uptime.
Conventional style unicables typically come with a connection that limits rotational capabilities and produces torsional stress in the cable. Unlike conventional unicables, the LSR+ incorporates a rotating power connection that reduces this stress during rotation. Additionally, a protective external conduit contributes to cable longevity by shielding components from harsh welding environments.

We are pleased to announce the launch of the new TOUGH GUN® TT4A and TT4E reamer nozzle cleaning stations. Tregaskiss has enhanced the trusted dependability of our existing TOUGH GUN TT3 and TT3E reamers with superior performance, high durability components and new standard features. With increased uptime and weld quality, you’ll spend less time maintaining and troubleshooting your robotic welding equipment and more time getting product out the door.
These new reamers power through the toughest spatter with a .95HP motor and 236 lbs. of spindle lifting force at 95 psi. Their higher durability components help to keep your welding operation up and running for extended periods of time:
- Powerful, lubricated motor lasts up to 18M cycles at 80+ psi
- Durable valves and cylinders rated for 10M+ cycles
- Wire cutter can run 1M+ cycles without requiring maintenance
Now included as standard are new features that help reduce downtime, safety incidents and costly weld defects related to anti-spatter:

Both the configurator and reverse lookup tool provide access to a detailed replacement parts list with diagram and additional resources such as spec sheets, owner’s manual and more. Resources can be printed, saved in PDF format, or shared via email.

Tregaskiss is pleased to announce updates to our fixed automatic series MIG guns:
Now available with AccuLock R consumables
AccuLock™ R consumables are designed for increased tip life, and virtually eliminate contact tip cross-threading issues to help reduce both your planned and unplanned downtime.
New Online Configurators and Reverse Lookup Tools
Customers can configure all fixed automatic MIG guns to required specifications or reverse lookup existing gun part numbers.
Part number change to MW1 fixed automatic water-cooled MIG guns
Tregaskiss® MW1 fixed automatic water-cooled MIG gun part numbers have been changed from the 46 and 64 series part numbering convention. Customers can look up legacy part numbers using the new Tregaskiss MW1 MIG gun part number conversion tool.

Customers may notice that some Tregaskiss® and Bernard® MIG welding product owner’s manuals look different than previous versions. This is because we recently refreshed the design and format of these product manuals, but their contents remain the same. No changes to the important installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, parts lists and other information and instructions have been made.

Tregaskiss Owner’s Manuals
The most current version of these newly formatted owner’s manuals, along with other product manuals and spec sheets, are available for download from our website from the respective product pages as well as the Spec Sheets and Owner’s Manuals page.
Printed inventory will be replaced as a running change.

Tregaskiss will discontinue the sales of ACA and ACB series automatic air-cooled MIG guns (formerly branded Bernard®) and parts as of January 31, 2021.

Tregaskiss® Auto Head Fixed Automatic Air-Cooled MIG Guns are available as replacements.
